The Israel Society
The Israel Society came into being in 2004, after the Students' Union responded to pressure to allow it. This year marks our shift from a political statement to a fully-fledged, active society.
The Israeli-Arab conflict is the most talked about subject today on campus, not least at SOAS. While part of our job is to ensure that views from all sides are given a hearing on campus, we do not represent any official point of view. So far this year we have hosted speakers representing a wide spectrum of opinion. Aside from the politics, we aim to explore and share the diversity of Israeli culture, through its cinema, music and art...
The Israel Society is open everyone who has an interest in Israel and wishes to learn and exchange views about it. Feel free to come to any of our events, and do get in touch to be added to the mailing list!!!
