Autonomous Society

New society (that has now got the required amount of signatories!) for those interested in autonomous ideas; social and political.

Set up to promote non-partisan, grass roots discussion and action on issues effecting students at SOAS (such as green issues, support for cleaning and academic staff struggles etc), as well as co-ordinating for larger radical causes. No political parties and no hierarchy - organising through concenus.

Linked to the Open Source gigs and local Food Not Bombs, we hope to begin starting things such as events and talks on issues not usually covered by the general union meetings; and instigating positive action for important issues in our lives.

There is no definitive 'ideology' as such to the group, but the focus is on how we can through free association take control over our own lives without the need of standard political parties and campaigning. Politics should be about the everyday, and people-centred.
